Bethlehem College and Seminary Press

Bethlehem College and Seminary Press is the new publishing division of Bethlehem College and Seminary. The new website storefront for BCSPress launches today.

We publish God-centered curriculum for adults (or motivated senior-high youth) within the local church. All our curriculum is designed to be Bible-saturated, theological, rigorous, and pedagogically effective. We hope that this curriculum will allow churches to implement Bethlehem Institute-like classes in their local context.

The Foundation Series of curriculum includes the four core courses taught at the Bethlehem Institute, which we think are a good foundation for the Christian life. These courses are:

  • Mining God’s Word: How to Study the Bible
  • God-Centered Living: Christian Hedonism and the Life of Faith
  • Theological Foundations 1: Essentials of Christian Doctrine
  • Theological Foundations 2: Essentials of Christian Doctrine

The Pillar Series extends the foundation to include other theological topics. Currently our course on TULIP: The Five Points of Calvinism is available.

Finally, the Public Square Series includes solid biblical and theological curriculum on practical topics that intersect with the world. Each of the courses in the Public Square series is 6-weeks long and designed for adult Sunday school classes. Currently, the Abortion is About God: Reframing a Moral Issue course is available.

BCSPress replaces The Bethlehem Institute store.

Follow-up to Jason DeRouchie's Sermon

Dr. Jason DeRouchie has followed up his recent sermon with an article on “The Old Testament Background to the Gospel Light Described in 1 John 2:7-14.”

We should not be amazed, therefore, when John affirms in the first chapter of his Gospel that “the true light, which enlightens everyone, was coming into the world” (John 1:9). Nor should we be surprised that Jesus himself claimed in John 8:12: “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” The tragedy, as noted by Jesus, is that “the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their deeds were evil” (John 3:19).
